Your modules
Academic English Skills aims to provide thorough training in the language and related academic skills which will enable international students to best achieve their academic potential at university. Our Academic English programme is validated by UK ENIC, the UK government agency responsible for providing information and expert opinion on qualifications and skills worldwide.
You will develop awareness and competency in a range of language-related academic skills, including the processes of academic writing, effective and extensive reading strategies, effective participation in seminars and delivery of presentations, and listening to and recording information effectively from lectures. You will also develop the accuracy and range of written and spoken language required to use language effectively and appropriately, with clarity and confidence in an academic context.
Alongside your classes, your studies will be supported by an online learning platform, providing you with a range of tasks and activities specifically designed to develop and extend your language and academic skills outside the classroom and to give you more control over your own learning.
This module explores the history and context of creative arts and design. You will learn about past and current styles, and how they shape art and media today. You will research different design and art theories and develop skills in communication and critical thinking. Assessments include creating a magazine-style review of a design, building, or media piece, combining both text and images.

This module covers basic drawing techniques, including scale, composition, and perspective. You will work on practical exercises with colour and materials to enhance your observational skills. Assessment is based on a portfolio showcasing your drawings and research.
This module introduces you to creating 2D digital art for animation, games, and visual effects. You will learn design principles using graphics software and develop your own digital assets. Emphasis is on building practical skills and showcasing creativity and technical ability.
This module focuses on developing your 3D art and design skills. You will learn different techniques for model construction and work with various materials. The course includes hands-on projects and practical demonstrations in the studio.
This module covers the basics of media production, including images, video, and sound. You will start with essential skills like risk assessment and using digital tools. Then, you will work on a group project, exploring creative processes, collaboration, and experimentation.
This module guides you through creating a small-scale individual project in your chosen field. You will develop your own ideas, manage your project, and handle feedback. Your final work could be an artefact, report, campaign, or similar. You will also explore the broader context of art and media to inform your project and practice.
Progress to your degree
After completing your International Foundation Year and achieving the necessary grades, you can transition to your chosen undergraduate degree. By completing this pathway, you will be able to progress to the following degrees.
